The fall season comes to an end for the girls volleyball team, completing their run with a 28-5 record. For seniors Azure Flagle, Samantha Gooding, Hayden Ramsey, and Natalie Sevier the records and life long friendships live on.  Sevier saw her team grow and learn as the years went on.

“It was just a positive and good season overall. We fought hard against all these hard teams we’ve lost to in the past, and they were so close, especially Yorktown,” Sevier said.

Gooding hopes to leave behind the strength of positive mentalities and hard work.

“I hope that I was a good leader for them, a good role model, not just in playing, but also being a good person,”

Gooding said. Both Sevier and Flagle are leaving behind teammates who are younger siblings and hope they left a lasting impact on the team.

“Haven is a joyful spirit with a ton of humor, and having her there just made it 10 times better. It was just a great experience, not everyone gets that opportunity to play with their sisters, so I didn’t take it for granted,” Flagle stated.

Not only were the seniors positive role models to the underclassmen, they also set the example on the court by breaking many records throughout the season. Ramsey set a new record for blocks and Gooding set a new record for assists. Although this was the seniors last season, they didn’t leave without putting their best foot forward on and off the court. Winning big and being great role models to inspire many to come stayed a top priority.

“No matter what circumstance you’re in, what level position you’re at, still choose to be a leader, and be the bigger person. Still be positive and encouraging to your teammates. Never think that you’re not good enough or that you’re too little to be the leader of the team,” Flagle said.
