Buc-ee’s, a popular chain in the east coast of the US and typically a once-in-a-while food court that visitors in Indiana go to when they’re available for an entire day, because the closest Buc-ee’s to Indiana is in Richmond, Kentucky.
That is a mile, six hour drive!
That has been the case for a while now, but a recent announcement revealed that Buc-ee’s will be opening in Indiana!
Buc-ee’s has begun discussions on opening in Greenwood, Indiana, although an official opening may not occur until 2028 or later.
Senior Ava Novoa said, “I think opening in Indiana brings good costs and brings in a lot of jobs.”
Novoa has been to Richmond Buc-ee’s before and she said she goes there sometimes on weekends.
“They’re mostly famous for Beaver Nuggets and they are pretty popular for their briskets.”
With construction being years away, Hoosiers will have to be patient, but the talk around Indiana’s first Buc-ee’s shows just how much people are ready for the iconic Texas based chain to finally arrive in the state.
What was once exclusively a vacation spot for many Hoosiers is now becoming a place they can go for lunch or gas. However, that long- standing situation is about to change.Buc-ee’s has officially confirmed plans to open its first ever Indiana location in Greenwood, marking a major expansion further into the Midwest. Although the project is still in the discussion and planning stage, early estimates suggest that construction may not be completed until 2028 or later. Despite the long wait, excitement is already building among Indiana residents.
Residents have been keeping themselves updated on construction and the overall progress.
People have yet to shy away from the idea of the popular food court chain to enter their state, as it has been in other nearby states for years.
People who have been to Buc-ee’s have always had good things to say about the chain.
Merchandise has found its way into Indiana resell stores.
The food is also complimented as well as the service and overall environment that has been formed around the culture of Buc-ee’s.
Students are excited to finally have a Buc-ee’s close to home. It definitely will be a spot they will all want to check out.
