The girls golf team at New Palestine High School is confident about how the rest of their season will go, even though they’ve had some challenges. With the sectional coming up soon, everyone’s working hard and staying positive.
Junior Jozlynn Hart, fourth on varsity, believes the rest of the season and the sectional will go smoothly.
Hart said, “I think it will reflect well for the rest of the season, with the sectional coming up, I think we’ll do pretty well.”
She has high hopes for what the team can accomplish this season.
Of course, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. The team has had to battle a lot of rain this season, making matches and practices increasingly difficult…
“I think that challenges that have come up this season are probably a lot of rain, so we haven’t been able to practice a lot. So, we’ve had less practice time and fewer matches,” Hart said.
The weather has definitely been a big problem, making it hard to get enough practice in. But, Hart said the team has still been doing their best despite the challenges. The girls golf team at New Palestine High School is staying positive and working hard, even with the weather issues.
They believe that they can do well, and they’re excited to finish the season strong. With their attitude and teamwork, they are ready for a strong showing in the sectional.
One good thing this season was the county meet. “I think we did really well at county, actually, it was a nice course,” Hart said.
That was a good experience for them and shows that they can handle some pressure. The team shot a 197 and placed second behind Mt. Vernon at county.
Looking ahead to the sectional, Hart is pretty hopeful.
The sectional is on Sept 21st at home on the Links course as they go against other teams in Indiana.
Hopefully, we’ll see their hard work over the first half of the season be on display in the sectional, as they compete and get in the top three of their sectional.
Everyone is hoping they’ll do their best and maybe even place in the top three. The future is bright for the girls golf team, and it’s cool to see how dedicated they are to the team and their goals.
Hart said, “I think based on the first half of the season we will rank top three in the sectional, hopefully.”
